Grown in north Queensland, black mountain coffee beans are a medium strength bean with a smoothness all of their own.
When brewing plunger coffee you need to add hot liquid. This can be hot water, hot milk, hot soy or any combination. Rosie’s favourite is hot full cream milk to make a flat white. Heat the desired amount of milk in the microwave and pour into the plunger straight on top of your ground coffee. Let the coffee brew for about 4 minutes and then plunge. Delicious!
Iced coffee can be made in the same way. Once brewed pour into a container and refrigerate until cold.To serve, place a scoop of ice cream in a glass. Pour the cold mixture over the ice cream. Top with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.
Heaven on a hot day!
When making coffee with an espresso machine it is important to remember it takes only 3 seconds once the group handle is clicked into the group head for the coffee to burn. When making milk coffee it is always best to froth the milk first and let it sit whilst you attend to the group handle. If frothing for Cappuccino, letting the frothed milk sit for a minute or two will allow the milk to thicken a little.
The difference between a Flat White and a Cappuccino is only the froth and chocolate sprinkles on the top!
To get great tasting coffee you need fresh 100% Arabica Beans that are correctly stored. Rosie’s on Buderim only offers 100% Arabica Beans that have been sourced from the top 10% of the worlds Arabica crop. Whole bean must be stored at room temperature in a container that keeps out the air and light.
Ground coffee needs to be stored in cold storage in a container that keeps out the air and the light.
Did you know that ground coffee stored in the freezer can be brewed immediately after being removed from the freezer. The grains do not freeze solid like a brick. When removed from the freezer they are like sand on the beach and can be brewed immediately.
We offer our coffee whether whole bean or ground in resealable snap lock bags with both sides coloured to keep out the light. We recommend, you store your beans in this bag whether they are whole bean in the pantry or ground bean in the fridge or freezer.
